Bhomra Land Port goes digital
Bhomra Land Port, located in Satkhira district to the south-west of the country is going digital. The State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury inaugurated the project titled 'Digitalization of the Border Procedures at Bhomra Landport' at Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka on Monday (May 29) in this connection. If the project is implemented, time and money will be saved in goods and passenger transport. The State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said at the event that the digitization project of Bhomra Land Port under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will play an important role in making Bangladesh a modern, prosperous and developed country by 2041 and building a Smart Bangladesh. With the implementation of the project, a new milestone has been established in the expansion of technology-based commercial activities and connectivity with the neighboring countries.
He also said that if the project is implemented, all the services of the port will be managed through smart governance and all the service users will be smart citizens. All our citizens will receive services at the port through state-of-the-art technology.

In the event, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the a2i program and the Bangladesh Land Port Authority to accept land port facility charges and other charges through 'Ekpay'. Apart from this, a separate Memorandum of Understanding was signed between 'bKash' and Bangladesh Land Port Authority to receive land port facility charges and other charges through 'bKash' QR code and a 'Help Desk' to provide better service and travel comfort to travelers and tourists through Akhaura Land Port. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Bangladesh Land Port Authority and 'Twelve Events MGA' in this regard.
